A COUNCIL is to perform a U-turn and give the go-ahead for a motorcycle showroom in Darlington.
Earlier this year, Darlington Borough Council rejected proposals to build the showroom at 199 Grange Road.
The Security Surveyors Group wanted to demolish offices and replace it with a motorcycle showroom on the ground floor, and offices on the first floor.
Planning permission was denied because councillors were concerned that there would be too much noise from a workshop.
However, a new application has now been submitted without the workshop included.
Members of Darlington council's planning applications committee will be told tomorrow the development would now only be used as a showroom for the display and sale of motorcycles.
Councillors are being recommended to grant approval.
