RESIDENTS are being given the chance to quiz Hartlepool's magistrates about law and order in the town.
Dr John Phillipson, chairman of Hartlepool magistrates, and deputy chairman David Mills, will be speaking at the Central Area Police and Community Safety local consultation forum tomorrow.
The event, which starts at 2pm in St Luke's parish community room, Tunstall Avenue, will include a question and answer session.
Councillor Stanley Fortune, chairman of the forum, said: "I am delighted that Dr Phillipson and Mr Mills have been able to accept my invitation to make a short presentation to the forum.
"Law and order is an issue which is utmost in many people's minds, and I hope that as many people as possible will come along to what promises to be a stimulating and enlightening meeting."
The magistrates will not be able to talk about individual cases but will be happy to explain the procedures of court and the guidelines magistrates work under.
Similar presentations will be made at the Owton Manor Community Centre, in Wynard Road, on Friday, at 2pm, and on Wednesday, April 25, at the Headland fire station, at 10am.
