A CAMPAIGN to stop motorists littering the streets has been launched in Hartlepool.
The borough council is offering free car litter bags to drivers to stop them throwing rubbish out of their cars.
Council officer Helen Beaman said: "It is important that we change the thoughtless attitudes of drivers who think the best way to dispose of litter is to throw it from their vehicle."
The bags can be collected at the civic centre or Neighbourhood Services offices.
