A RUSSIAN scientist who has pioneered a controversial "cure" for asthma is to visit the North-East.
British followers of Professor Konstantin Buteyko claim that his unconventional approach to treating asthma could help millions to live without inhalers and save the NHS huge sums of money every year.
Supporters, including businessman Dennis Champion, of Whitley Bay, have persuaded Prof Buteyko to make a number of appearances in the UK, including Newcastle on May 3.
The professor believes that asthma is caused by incorrect breathing.
