A woman was mortified when told she kicked a police officer in the testicles during a drunken rampage, said her lawyer yesterday.
Catharine Doyle, 35, was ordered to pay Cleveland PC Scott Spitty £50 compensation yesterday after she pleaded guilty to assault, affray, and possession of two knives near her home in Northcliffe Street, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough.
She was also given a 12- month community rehabilitation order by Teesside magistrates.
Doyle, of previous good character, lashed out with her foot at Middlesbrough police station, said prosecutor Andrea Pitt. PC Spitty was still in pain some time later.
Chris Marley, defending, said that earlier Doyle had been seen dancing in a local pub. She could not explain why her behaviour changed in the way it did.
Her partner was on holiday in Spain when she turned up at his daughter's house a few doors away, with two knives.
Mr Marley said: "She has effectively changed her lifestyle completely as a result of her behaviour. She was absolutely ashamed and embarrassed by what happened. It is something that she will not ever repeat."
