GRAND National winner Red Marauder is to take part in a civic parade in his honour in owner Norman Mason's home city of Sunderland next week.
The millionaire owner/trainer, and his wife Dorothy, will be joined by stable jockey Richard Guest, and the 11-year-old gelding on a civic welcome in the city centre.
The parade will culminate in a civic centre reception for the Masons and Mr Guest, hosted by Sunderland Mayor, councillor Brian Dodds.
It will be Red Marauder's first public appearance away from his home, at Mr Mason's 370-acre Brancepeth Manor Farm, near Durham, since his epic victory in the Aintree mud earlier this month.
The Mayor of Durham, Councillor George Wharton, has already passed on his greetings in a visit to the stables last week.
Tuesday's parade will begin at the Mason Organisation's head office, in High Street West, Sunderland, at noon, taking in John Street, Holmeside and Park Lane.
