Ithe final week of the League, leaders Wings Social Club from Stockton were away to second placed, The Royal Hotel from Hartlepool. The Royal needed a convincing win to take the title from their guests but it wasn't to be. Molly Pywell (13.07) beat Jean Atkinson (12.38) 3-0, Vee Page (17.08) beat Ellen Humble (14.23) 3-0 and Jackie Allison (13.92) beat Jean Robinson (14.19) 3-0 to give Wings a 3 point lead. Lady of the match Babs Evans (17.23) beat Jean Hagan (16.54) 3-1 to get the Royal their first point. The match was won when Pat J Smith (14.94) beat Julie Sorby (14.70) 3-1. Julie scored a 180. The pairs were shared 1-1; Julie Sorby had a 157 checkout in her pairs match. Final score 5-2 to Wings Social Club who retain their League Champions title.
The Mile House from Stockton were at home to Billingham Social Club and the visitors got off to a good start with Karen Allison (10.04) who beat Maureen Alderson 3-1 and Pauline Heal who beat Margaret Nelson 3-0. The situation was soon level, Tracey Simcox (12.36) beat Joyce Dunlop (11.65) 3-1 and lady of the match, Pauline Crowe (13.67) beat Mandy Stephens (12.32) 3-1. Wendy Graham (12.81) beat Vi Milburn (11.18) 3-1 to give Billingham the lead. The pairs were shared which meant the final score was 4-3 to Billingham Social Club. Burn Valley Social Club were at home to the Cricketers Arms. The home side stormed away with the match, lady of the match Claire Stainsby (18.63) beat Marg Gunn (17.42) 3-1. Dorothy Pounder beat Karen Monaghan 3-0, Marlene Huby (12.08) beat Jane Andrews (12.94) 3-1 and Pat A Smith (15.53) beat Trish Manton (13.77) 3-2. However, Cricketers were a player short so had to concede a match. The pairs were shared, so the final score was 6-1 to Burn Valley.

CIU League Individual Championship
The league staged the qualifying rounds of the singles championship at four venues with two players moving to the finals night from each venue. At Byers Green, Jeff Sneath and Davey Byrne, both of Crook Belle Vue, qualified. Sneath had to beat three of his teammates to get through but managed to see off John Heathcote, Doug McCarthy and Paul Knighton, while Byrne beat Dave Lee and Ian Breen of the Victoria and Steve Gordon of Byers Green.
At Newfield, Kevin Hawkey (Crook Belle Vue) and Alan Clarkson (Byers Green) qualified. Hawkey beat Keith Newton of Crook Belle Vue, Ray Scott of Cockton Hill and Chilton's Paul Longmire. Clarkson beat Davey Harrison (Chilton), Ian Mavin of the Victoria and Kevin Whitehead (Newfield). Tony Nixon and Dave Hull, both of Ferryhill, qualified from the Chilton venue. Nixon beat John Wilson (Stanhope), Malcolm Hughes (Byers Green) and Brian Longstaff of Crook Belle Vue, while Hull beat Cockton Hill's Ronnie Greensmith, Gary Taylor (Ferryhill) and Alan Richardson of the Victoria. At the Victoria, Keith Wright of Crook Belle Vue qualified by beating Tommy Ward, of Cockton Hill and Robin Douthwaite, also from Cockton Hill, qualified by beating Steve Johnston of Crowtrees. Keith Wright had a 12 and a 15 darts finish with check-outs of 116 and 161 as well as hitting a maximum. There were 15 dart finishes for Tony Nixon and Tommy Ward, while Steve Graham hit a 146 check out. There were maximums from Brian Longstaff, Tommy Ward, Robin Douthwaite, Kevin Whitehead, Alan Clarkson and Ian Breen. Eddie Bowes, Roy Brown and Paul Knighton all hit two maximums, while Dave Byrne put in three.

Darren Yeoman and Kenneth Atkinson of Tow Law New Market took the league pairs championship when they defeated Geoff Pratt and Bob Slater of Billy Row Club in the final at Esh Winning McKennas.
Quarter finals results: Yeoman and Atkinson beat Colin Howcroft and John Parkin (New Market); John Ward and John Heathcote (Billy Row Club) lost to John Smythe and Robert Wilkinson (Sunniside Comedian); Colin Boughey and Stephen Boughey (Tow Law Cattle Mart) beat Stephen Umpelby and Shaun McGrath (New Market); Pratt and Slater beat Bob Gray and Alan Thompson (New Market).
In the semi-finals Yeoman and Atkinson beat Smythe and Wilkinson while Pratt and Slater beat the Boughey brothers.
Following the closure of Billy Row Club the darts triples championship has been transferred to Sunniside Comedian, with the presentation evening going to Tow Law New Market.
Willington League
The Prospect Club and Willington Burn Inn came through the semi-finals to play off for the four man knock-out cup on finals night.
The Prospect team of Geoff Maddison, Trevor Bourne, Paul Morris and John Peacock went through with a 3-1 victory over Willington Club's team of Micky Irwin, Arthur Goldsborough, Steve Hutchinson and Scott Little. In the other semi-final the Burn were taken to the decider by Willington Commercial before edging to victory. The Burn team was Colin Davidson, Lyndon Taylor, Gordon Foster and Tony Longhorn, whilst Alan Bolam, Trevor Allchurch, Ronnie Johnson and Paul Allchurch represented the Commercial.
