WATERCOLOURS of Yorkshire scenes are among the lots at Tennants' spring catalogue sale this year.
Work by Henry Carter, George Watts, Joseph Bagshawe and Fred Lawson will be included in the auction to be held next Thursday and Friday.
The highlight is by the latter artist, depicting the refreshment tent at Middleham Fair in 1917. Signed and dated, it is expected to fetch in the region of £1,000 to £1,500.
However, also offered for sale will be a large trophy awarded to the Carver family, of Brough, at the Manchester Whitsuntide race meeting in 1888. The silver figure of a mounted knight in full armour is valued in the region of £8,000 to £10,000.
Viewing is from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, as well as between 9am and 4pm from Monday until Wednesday.
More details are available from the auction rooms on (01969) 623780.
