Jackson Kneeshaw scored an impressive hat-trick for the Under-8s to a 4-1 win against Whinney Banks Under-7s, despite several fine saves by man of the match Ryan Clarke, in goal for Whinney Banks.
Jamie McGlade scored a well-taken goal for Whinney Banks following indecision in the Spraire defence following a corner. Several good moves involving Spraire keeper Chris Charlton, defenders Dale Johnston, James Bennett and substitute Kerry Hedley gave the crowd good entertainment. Matthew Plumb and man of the match Rob Chambers worked hard for Spraire with hard tackling Brian Todd scoring an excellent goal. Katie Taylor impressed for Whinney Banks. The Under-8s also gained a 4-1 away win over Hartburn Juniors A. Spraire started well with good movements between defenders Dale Johnston and James Bennett, combining with attackers Jackson Kneeshaw and Rob Chambers. Brian Todd and Kneeshaw each scored a goal and man of the match Chambers weighed in with two. Oliver Craven for Hartburn and Christopher Charlton for Spraire had steady games in goal. Lloyd Cooper pulled a goal back for Hartburn. Adam Allcock, Thomas Crosson, Shaun Briscoe and Oliver White battled well for Hartburn, helped by substitutes Sean White and Jak Edwards. Kerry Hedley came on for James Bennnett and made several good tackles. Brad Tarren (2), Shane Legg and John Nimmo scored the goals for the Under-13s B team in a 4-2 win against Ingleby Barwick in the Teesside Junior FA Alternative Cup, quarter-final, the rest of the Spraire team putting in a good display against a team two divisions above them. Spraire are also chasing promotion after a very successful season. Spraire Lasses gave an impressive performance with as 3-0 win over Whinney Banks in a friendly. Amy Nicholson scored in the first minute and Danni Shutt scored the second goal for Spraire with Sophie Dowson scoring a well-taken goal on her debut. Katie Taylor starred for Whinney Banks with defender Rebecca Boyd playing well for Spraire. Earlier, against Spraire Lads, Kathryn Clarke and Gemma Marshall gave impressive displays.
