The Under-8s played Cleveland Hall in a highly entertaining Apollo Doors Mini League match, running out 1-0 winners at the end.
The goal for Blackfyne was scored by Jack Malone with Luke Richardson getting man of the match. Blackfyne would like to congratulate Richardson for being named Player of the League after picking up most man of the match awards. The Under-10s had two matches this weekend, winning both. In the first they beat Redheugh Reds 2-0 with Danny Walker, Andrew Rennoldson and also man of the match. They then beat Felling B 2-1, the scorers being Danny Walker and Steven Shaw and also man of the match. The Under-11s played Low Fell A and were soundly beaten 5-1 in the A and C Kelly Gateshead Youth League. The scorer for Blackfyne was George Making with Paul Graham man of the match. A better result for the Under-12s though when they travelling to Felling and came home with all the points after a 4-0 victory. The scorers were Shaun Donaghy (2), Lee Calvert and Martin O'Neil with man of the match going to Dan Nichol. Blackfyne played a good South Shields side in the New County Youth League and despite going 2-0 down finished the match with a 3-3 draw and can count themselves unlucky not to have picked up all the points after a marvellous second half fightback. The scorers were Richard Foster, Dean Leighley and Paul Haggan with man of the match going to Andrew Walton.
