RESIDENTS of a Darlington estate can look forward to a greener future with the adoption of an environmental strategy.
Last year, Firthmoor was awarded £3m over five years from the Government's Single Regeneration Budget.
Firthmoor Community Partnership was set up to oversee spending, and it agreed to adopt a sustainability policy to ensure all activities undertaken took account of the social, economic and environmental well-being of the estate and residents.
Projects include a litter pick and a composters scheme. Neighbourhood office workers have looked at cycling to work and meetings.
