Action is being taken to smarten up unsightly shrubs in York Road, Hartlepool.
Three raised shrub beds, at the end of Thornton, Carlton and Dalton Streets, and a fourth in South Road, will be cleaned out and replanted.
The shrubbery is in a poor condition and has become a litter trap. It will be replaced with dense mature plants.
The work has been sanctioned by Hartlepool Borough Council's Central Neighbourhood Forum, which is meeting the £540 cost from its minor works budget
