In Division One Coundon Miners Arms' superb season continued when they maintained their 100 per cent record, as they opened up a nine point lead after beating nearest rivals Team Scania 3-1.
Spraire won their tenth successive league game by beating The Northern Echo. The weather took its toll to help the goals in this game. Spraire led 2-1 at the interval and made it 3-1 within 20 seconds of the restart. Echo never gave up and pulled a goal back through Craig Maddison, his second of the game - but Spraire scored again to make the final score 4-2. Man of the match Danny Richmond and Richie Hindle both scored twice for Spraire.
Busters remain fourth after beating Stooperdale RA 3-0 for their sixth successive league victory. Champions East End WMC beat Brinkburn 8-0. Springfield were too strong for Copper Beech DCS and ran out 5-2 winners with goals from Mark Jenkinson (2), Darren Tale, Dominic Rich and Dave McKeown. DCS goals came from Ged Callaghan and a 25-yard own goal.
Newly crowned Division Two champions Nestfield Club were brought down to earth, losing 2-1 to nearest rivals Hoppers Transport who sealed their promotion to Division One with the hard earned victory. Leading scorer Garry Mitchell opened the scoring for Nestfield but late goals from Mike Smith and Brian Thornton grabbed the points for Hoppers.
Third place Green Dragon kept up their promotion challenge with an 8-0 victory over an already relegated Hogans side.
Classic World of Fitness continued their recent good run with a 3-2 victory over Northern Spirit RA which took them into fourth place.
Sadberge also maintained their promotion challenge with a 4-2 victory over Bishop Auckland Derby, 4-2.
Smith and Allan came out on top of a very high scoring encounter with Newton Cap, eventually winning 10-4.
Second placed 21st All Stars drew 3-3 with third placed Bishop Auckland Kings Head. The Kings Head staged a late comeback to, keep their nine match unbeaten run. They were 3-1 down at one stage, scorers for the All Stars were Stephen Lambert, Darren Kokes and Anthony McMaster, but two goals from man of the match Alan Lamb and one from Jonathan Breckon earned them a share of the points.
The game between fifth placed Hurworth Albion and sixth placed AFC Orange also ended in 3-3 draw.
Hurworth took an lead through Jonathan Stansfield then goals from Kev Kokes, Chris Wardell and Steve Sturman gave Orange a 3-1 lead.
Hurworth fought back with another Stansfield goal and one
from James Edwards.
Struggling Falchion were level 1-1 at half time with Royal British Legion, Dave Ripley scoring with a looping header from a Simon Taylor cross. But with the wind behind them in the second half the Legion went on to score two more to seal a 3-1 victory. Scorers for Legion were Michael Meredith (2) and Trevor Cooke. Biglins News and Brown Trout shared the points in another 3-3 draw.
