NEWCASTLE East End celebrated winning the League Cup when an only goal from Gavin Wood was sufficient against West Denton who enjoyed a lot more success in a couple of league fixtures.
First, West Denton saw off South Moor by an 11-2 margin as the goals flowed from Damon Anderson (3), Craig Pleasant (2), Chris Garwood (2), Liam McIvor and Lee Garwood.
In another fixture, West Denton hit botton team Tow Law with a 9-0 defeat. On this occasion the scorers were Damon Anderson, with a hat-trick, Darren Fraser, Paul Watson, Kevin Smith, Craig Pleasant, Lee Garwood and Colin Kennedy.
In contrast, goals were at a premium when Redheugh entertained Newcastle East End but a brace of goals from Jason Singh earned the Reds the points.
Paul Sawyer netted for Consett but Dunston Fed. gained a 1-1 draw courtesy of Ben Howells while a hat-trick from Ben Young and one goal by Dean Gates enabled Walker Central to see off the challenge of South Moor with a 4-1 result.
