Bishop Auckland's injury crisis continued in Wednesday night's 2-1 win over Hyde United.
Bishops lost defender Mark Salmon and Andy Shaw during the game, and they are big doubts for tomorrow's home game with second placed Stalybridge. Bishops took the lead after ten minutes when Salmon headed into the top corner from ten yards, and they went further ahead after 54 minutes when David Gallagher beat three men and fired home.
Hyde pulled a goal back, but Bishops made sure in the last minute when Danny Brunskill cleverly set up Stephen Bell to score.
Spennymoor manager Peter Mulcaster had to put himself on the subs bench for his side's trip to Barrow last Saturday.
Mulcaster could only muster 11 players, including his son Martin, for the trip to Cumbria, and so was forced to name himself as one of the subs.
Fortunately, he wasn't called into action, although he admitted: "There were one or two close things."
Blyth midfielder Justin Keegan will miss the Presidents Cup final next week against Stalybridge because of suspension.
The game itself will be played to a finish, with extra time and penalties if necessary, as is the case with Bishops' league cup final at Lancaster on May 1.
