THE TEES and North East Yorkshire NHS Trust will begin a three-week, £42,000 improvement project on Tuesday to replace windows in Guisborough General Hospital's Chaloner Block with double-glazed units.
Although the work will ensure a more comfortable stay for patients, it will mean some disruption. While work is being carried out on the third floor Chaloner Ward, the hospital's second floor maternity ward will be closed, with new mums being transferred to South Cleveland Hospital.
Window fitters will also replace the maternity ward windows before the unit re-opens. Out patients, minor injuries and out-of-hours services on the ground floor will remain open as usual
