Crook and District League
Crook Wanderers took the first step to the Crook and District League and cup double when they won the Norman Wright Memorial Knockout Trophy. In the final on the Crook Millfield, Wanderers beat Byers Green St Peter's 3-0. Stuart Dawson (2) and Wayne Lonsdale were the scorers.
Willington Cottles lost ground in the title race when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Billy Row. Cottles led early on through Andrew Howard but Billy Row earned a point with a 35th minute equaliser from Michael Jewitt.
Kevin Peart put Wearhead United ahead at Crook White Swan. The home side came back through a Paul Goldsbrough volley from a corner. Two second half goals from their man of the match Darren Deuchars gave White Swan a 3-1 win. Wearhead were best served by keeper Chris Oliver.
Goalless draws have been rare this season but Howden Australian and Stanhope ended 0-0 after a wind-ruined game. Stanhope had chances in the first-half and Australian in the second but all were squandered in a poor match.
