MORE visitor attractions are opening across the North-East.
Chesters Roman fort, on Hadrian's Wall, is the best example of a Roman cavalry fort in the UK.
The Northumbrian museum has been open throughout the crisis, but the excavated fort, with its bath house, barracks and headquarters, has just reopened.
Other attractions open on the wall include Vindolanda, Segedunum and Arbeia, at South Shields.
Kielder Water and Forest Park, in Northumberland, has three visitor centres open and a choice of walking and cycling routes, as well as mini golf, indoor pool, restaurants and adventure playground.
cyclists can get back on their bikes, following the reopening of the National Cycleway in Teesside, from Stockton to Middlesbrough.
In County Durham, Bowes Museum is running two jewellery exhibitions at the moment, while all Barnard Castle's shops, accommodation and eating places are open.
Morpeth is hosting the Northumbrian Gathering this weekend, celebrating Northumberland's arts and music.
The highlight takes place tomorrow, at 11am, with the re-enactment the return of Lord Greystoke from Otterburn.
The leading Northumbrian coastal attractions are also open. Visitors can also enjoy a boat trip to the Farne Islands.
