A CHARITY providing valuable help for people with learning disabilities is celebrating after it received a £230,000 Lottery grant.
Ryedale and Scarborough Mencap is expanding its day care services for adults, with more support and advice for people with learning disabilities, their parents and carers.
Branch coordinator David Mennell said: "This money could not have come at a better time because our grant from the national branch of Mencap for this service is set to run out soon. The money will be used to provide one full-time support worker and two part-time workers.
"They will offer all sorts of advice for our members."
The Ryedale branch provides support for people across the district, including the towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering
