A TINY Shetland foal and an extremely tall hunting horse have formed their own Little and Large friendship after finding shelter at a rescue centre.
The odd couple make a strange sight standing side by side at Ramshaw Rescue Centre, near Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
Injured hunter Trooper towers over his small friend, Edwina, who is the same size as a labrador dog.
Kate Wilson, from Ramshaw, said: "They look fascinating when next to each other. They are happy to wander around together and Edwina can literally walk underneath Trooper."
Both animals arrived at the centre about two weeks ago. Trooper was injured while hunting and Edwina was rescued from near death after her mother died and left her on her own.
Trooper is to become a permanent resident at Ramshaw but the search is on for a good home for Edwina.
Fighting back from death's door, the ten-month old foal would make an ideal pet for someone, says Ms Wilson
"She's a yearling and cannot be ridden by children for about two years. But she's lovely.''
Anyone who can offer Edwina a home should contact the centre on 01388 834644.
The home's website address is www.ramshawrescue.co.uk
