A FOOTBALL-MAD teenager who lost a leg through cancer has been given a Darlington FC season ticket.
The kind gesture was made by Quakers' chairman George Reynolds after he was told about the bravery of 13-year-old Ian Weston.
Ian, of Darlington, had a leg amputated in November last year after developing cancer.
He has refused to let the loss of a limb get the better of him, and has continued to live an active life.
Ian, whose favourite team is Manchester United, was invited to watch Darlington players train in Durham City yesterday.
He was delighted when he was presented with a pair of season tickets for Darlington's next third division campaign.
The club's director of football, Luke Rain, said: "We were all impressed with Ian's fortitude, and how positive he is.
"He was gobsmacked when we presented him with the season ticket, and as far as we are concerned, if he wants anything, all he has to do is ask."
