A YOUNG artist has taken a top prize after coming up with a poster to combat car crime.
Alexandra Knox was one of a group of seven and eight-year-olds at Galley Hill School, in Guisborough, who were asked to come up with ideas for the Redcar and Cleveland Auto Crime Reduction group.
As the winner, her design has been reproduced and placed in car parks throughout Redcar and Cleveland, to remind drivers to protect their vehicles.
She also received a bike and helmet from Halfords yesterday, while the other pupils received Easter eggs from Cleveland Police, the competition organiser.
Detective Inspector Gordon Lang, who chairs the Crime Reduction group, said: "The standard of the poster designs was outstanding, and it was not easy to select a winner, but I am pleased to award the bike to Alexandra. I hope drivers and owners take notice of the signs."
