SCOUTS from across Middlesbrough got together yesterday, to take part in a St George's Day parade. Fronted by District Parade Leaders, 800 Scouts marched along a route, which took in Albert Road, Corporation Road and Grange Road.
They were led by the Cleveland Police band. West Middlesbrough Scouts' band also accompanied the youngsters, who were made up of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
The parade culminated in a service at Middlesbrough Town Hall, where a salute was taken on the steps.
Inspector Rob Donaghy of the community policing team said: "The Scouts were the first of a number of organisations and groups that have used the new route, while it is in operation."
