RESIDENTS on a Darlington estate are being reassured that action will be taken to stop youths causing trouble near their homes.
There have been complaints made about youth activities and nuisance in the Lingfield area. The problem mainly involves youngsters causing trouble outside the Aldi/Iceland stores, off Yarm Road.
Ward councillor Ian Haszeldine said the youths throw stones, give people abuse and cause general mischief.
Coun Haszeldine said he has held discussions with police and community wardens to address the problem, and he is also hoping that the owners of the Aldi/Iceland stores will also get involved.
Anyone who sees youths causing trouble can call Darlington police on (01325) 467681.
