EARLY morning drivers are being urged to help police after a 30-year-old woman reported being attacked as she walked alone at the weekend.
The 30-year-old victim, who has not been named, was walking alongside the A688 from West Auckland to Tindale Crescent between 3.45 and 5am on Saturday.
After the attack, near the St Helen Auckland industrial estate, she tried to flag down passing cars, but none stopped to help.
Anyone who was in the area at the time is asked to call police on (01388) 603566.
