Kieron Dyer today declared he was staying at Newcastle as Manchester United launched a £20 million swoop.
The England wing-back, 22, pledged his loyalty after the Red Devils had a reported £15m bid rejected by the Geordies.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be ready to make a new record £20m offer this summer.
But Dyer, who's injured, is reported as saying: "I am staying at Newcastle and that's all there is to it.
"As far as I'm concerned, any talk of a £15m bid is ridiculous and nobody at the club knows anything about it.
"I'm flattered that my name keeps being linked other big clubs, but at the moment, all I'm concentrating on is getting fit.
"I won't go to the manager's door asking to leave St James' Park, and the club don't want me to leave.
"That's pretty conclusive - but I can't stop the speculation.''
Dyer, who cost £6m from Ipswich almost two years ago, is also said to be interesting Leeds and Serie A giants Juventus.
