AN art exhibition will open today exploring carving and letterwork.
The Ground Beneath Our Feet is showing at the Reg Vardy Gallery, at the University of Sunderland, until May 11.
The exhibition is a showcase of the work of the carving and design duo, Brenda Berman and Annet Sterling, known as Incisive Letterwork.
Their work concentrates on word sculpture and large-scale architectural inscriptions, and features wall and floor sculptures included in the new wing of the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Other works include Pythag-oras, a carving based on the mathematician's theory on sound and music.
The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm. Call 0191-515 21228 for details.
