THE organisers of an East Durham charity event are calling on local groups to get involved.
The Northern Training Trust, in Peterlee, is planning a fun day, possibly next month, at East Durham and Houghall Community College in the town.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Clarke Lister Appeal, which was set up in memory of the ten-year-old Peterlee schoolboy who died of a brain haemorrhage in 1996.
Audrey Huntley, an assessor with the training company, said: "We want to hear from any organisations that want to take part, or have any ideas for activities."
The appeal was launched by Clarke's parents, Brian and Carole, and has already raised £100,000.
The couple have set themselves a target of raising £400,000 for the appeal.
Anyone interested in getting involved with the fun day can call Ms Huntley at the Northern Training Trust on 0191-587 0715.
