DURHAM schoolboy Daniel Moore is looking forward to the trip of a lifetime to South America.
The 15-year-old, from Belmont, who is a pupil at Newcastle Royal Grammar School, will be taking part in a four-week expedition to southern Peru next year.
He will be part of a team called World Challenge that will spend time trekking and working with local communities on projects to repair or redecorate schools.
But first, Daniel has to raise £2,500 to cover his costs and is on the look-out for businesses willing to sponsor him.
"One of the things I will be doing to help achieve this target is a sponsored cycle ride to complete the Coast-to- Coast route," he said.
"However, this alone would not raise the full amount which is needed for me to be able to join the expedition. I am trying to raise a large part of the cost through corporate sponsorship, as well as saving as much as I can in pocket money and other small jobs.''
Daniel has already been given £100 by Caf Rock, the Durham nightclub that runs under-19s discos, and is hoping other businesses in the city will be able to help.
