Fly-tippers, who dumped potentially dangerous plastic containers, in a Hartlepool lay-by are being hunted by council officials.
The two 10ft caustic-water washer towers, abandoned in Marina Way, could have led to anyone who tried to take the tops off them being badly burnt.
The council was made aware of the items on Tuesday, and would like to speak to anyone who knows where they came from originally, or who dumped them.
Anyone with information is asked to telephone (01429) 523534.
