Chilton YC will play Crook Town in the final of the Auckland and District Ebac Youth League Cup after contrasting semi-final wins. Chilton beat Bishop Auckland 3-2, while Crook won 9-0 at home to West Auckland.

Bishops finished top of the League Cup Group B, completing their qualifying games with a 2-0 victory at Willington in midweek with goals from Adrian Whittaker and Warren Burn. The semi-final draw saw Bishops away to Group A winners Chilton, who booked their place in the final with goals from Craig Mason (pen) and Adam Reeves (2). Burn and Norman Stephens replied for Bishops.

Paul Freary scored four for Crook in their semi-final win over West Auckland, with Dean Yeats (2), Gary Jones, Steven Roberts and Jonathan Stark getting the rest. Chilton and Crook also meet in the semi-final of the Lady Eden Hospital Cup.

Bishops kept on course for the league title with a midweek 3-1 win away to Ferryhill Athletic. Kevin Hamilton netted a hat-trick for Bishops whose man of the match was Peter Strevens, Kurt Burlegh scored for Ferryhill with Michael Brown man of the match. Ferryhill bounced back on Saturday with a 2-1 success at Esh Winning. Paul Bailes opened for Ferryhill with a penalty, Andy Herd equalising with another penalty. Herd and John Makepeace of Ferryhill were sent off, Philip Appleby scoring a late winner for Athletic whose man of the match was Chris Dixon. Crook Town had a 2-0 league win at West Auckland midweek, Paul Freary getting both goals. When Crook and Esh played two games back-to-back it was by mutual consent of the two clubs, and not by order of the league.

David Jackson and Martin Hopps both scored hat-tricks for Willington Under-14s in their 7-1 victory at home to Horden in the Russell Foster Premier Division. Daniel Lee got the other goal for Willington, whose man of the match was Andrew Johnston.

The Under-15s defeated visitors Birtley St Josephs 6-1 to stay on course for a high position in their Premier Division. Terry Garside (2), Sam Smallman, Craig Armin, Michael Hogarth and Neil Clark scored.

The Under-13s lost 4-2 at home to Ayton in the last 16 of the Ray Foster Cup, man of the match Warren Robinson and Lee Tinkler scoring. The Under-13s then beat visitors SAFC 14/7 2-0 in the league. Michael Walsh scoring in the latter game.

Willington Under-10s drew 0-0 with City of Durham Wasps and then lost 3-0 to Washington Envelopes. Matthew Mounter was man of the match in the first game, Evan Graham in the second
