TEENAGE snowboarding star Gemma Holmes has been honoured by Wear Valley District Council after winning the British junior championships title. The 17-year-old, from Lindisfarne Close, Bishop Auckland, beat 50 other competitors to win the championships, which were held in Mayrhofen, Austria.
She was presented with an award by council leader Olive Brown, before Wednesday night's council meeting
