SOME of the best amateur golfers in the region will be teeing off in Redcar on sunday.
The men-only Cleveland Salver Cup, which is part of a series of tournaments taking place throughout the North, is looking for the best amateur golfer in Northumbria and Durham as well as the top man in Yorkshire.
Club secretary Peter Fletcher was looking forward to a good day's golfing and said this year's field was the best in the cup's history. He said: "We have 60 entrants and there is no-one with a handicap of three or more."
Spectators are welcome, free of charge, to the event at the Redcar course, on Majuba Road.
