A NEW pizza take-away seems likely to be approved in Leyburn, despite objections by the town's two district councillors.
Edward Forth and Terry Jones have indicated their concern that similar businesses will suffer if planners approve the conversion of the old butcher's shop in Crown Court.
But a report to a meeting to be held on Tuesday said competition was not something councillors can take account of.
Some details on the impact on properties nearby are still sketchy and Richmondshire District Council officers are not yet recommending approval.
However, the report says that if outstanding concerns are satisfied the senior planning officer should be given authority to rubber-stamp the scheme.
