Crook Town have been accepted into the North Alliance League for next season.
The competition is for Under-19 teams and a spokesman for the Millfield club said: "We feel that it would be more beneficial for youngsters to have an extra year in youth football before jumping into the Northern League."
The new league comprises youth teams from UniBond League clubs such as Guiseley, Frickley and Harrogate Town.
Matches are played on Sundays.
Crook's Durham County Youth Cup (Under-18) final with Jarrow St Bede's is to be played at Chester-le-Street's ground on May 10 (kick-off 7pm).
Crook have reached two finals in the Auckland and District League. In the President's Cup final they meet Willington while in the League Cup final they face Chilton - also their semi-final opponents in the Lady Eden Hospital Cup tomorrow.
Crook juniors are also seeking sponsors for next season and anyone able to help should contact Paul Wraith on 01388-767530.
The final of the Durham Minor Cup between Horden Cricket Club and Hartlepool Arriva Express is at Peterlee Newtown on Monday (kick-off 7pm).
