NAPPY days could be here again for parents across the region after an environmental initiative with the emphasis firmly on youth was launched.
Real Nappy Week has been promoting ways to combat the enormous amount of household waste generated by babies.
North Yorkshire County Council gave its support to the scheme - and one member of staff is fully aware of the benefits of real nappies, which can save families up to £500 for a first child.
Ken Moody, head of waste management at North Yorkshire County Council, said his son Thomas had been using real nappies since he was born.
He said: "A family can do their bit for the environment by using real nappies and save money as well. It's certainly worked for us."
