AN after-school project and family centre which caters for children with disabilities alongside other youngsters has opened its doors to parents.
The centre at Tedder Primary School, Tedder Avenue in Thornaby provides day, after-school and holiday care for children aged three and above, from all Thornaby and Ingelby Barwick primary schools and nurseries.
To show parents what youngsters do at the centre, an open day was held this week.
Laura Provett, project manager, said: "Children, including those with disabilities and special educational needs are welcome.
"The open day gave parents the chance to take a look around and find out how they could benefit from a whole range of facilities at the centre," said Ms Provett.
Representatives from employment services, training agencies, a benefits advisor and careers advisor were at the event.
Tedder Primary School was awarded £30,000 to help fund the centre.
