DRUGS worker David Moralee, 19, has been honoured by councillors for his tireless efforts to educate young people about the dangers of substance abuse.
Labelled disruptive at 13, David, of Low Mown Meadows, Crook, took a Prince's Trust course which included sessions tackling the dangers of drugs.
He went back the next year as an instructor and used his knowledge to secure an £11,000 grant to develop an education programme for young people.
After David's achievements earned him a nomination as the Prince's Trust Young Achiever of the Year, he was called before Wear Valley district councillors to be presented with a special award by deputy chairman Wilf Dobinson
