AN Ingleby Arncliffe man recently spent an exhausting four days as editor of the Unitarian movement's conference daily newspaper.

Mr Neill Warhurst had worked on the paper before, but this year volunteered to edit and mastermind the GA Zette, which is a popular feature at the general assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian churches' annual meetings held at Chester last week.

Coverage of all the activities each day means the staff of the GA Zette get very little sleep. Indeed, on the last night of the conference, Mr Warhurst and his team had no sleep at all, and were still able to produce an extra lunch time edition for sale to the 400 delegates just before they left for home.

Mr Warhurst, who lives in Priory Way, graduated from university college, Scarborough, with upper second class honours in theatre studies.

He has worked as a freelance for three years, building sets for touring theatre, designing lighting and providing general stage management and production services.

His father, Mr David Warhurst, who was editor of the GA Zette at the general assembly conference at Edinburgh 25 years ago, lent a hand this year as business manager.

Mr Warhurst senior was at Chester as the official delegate for the Stockton-on-Tees Unitarian church in Wellington Street.
