A DAREDEVIL teacher is to complete a parachute jump to raise money for school equipment.
Michelle Herron is hoping to raise £1,000 in sponsorship for Rosebank School, in Ferryhill.
She wants to use the money to buy a sound beam for the school's sensory room.
A sound beam is a musical instrument which can be operated with minimal movement.
Mrs Herron said: "This is something I have always fancied doing, and I am really excited about it.
"The company my husband works for has paid for the jump, which means anything I raise is going to the sensory room."
The tandem jump will take place at Peterlee, on Wednesday, May 2, preceded by a training session.
A donation of £200 from Intelect UK has set the sponsorship ball rolling, but Mrs Herron would still like to hear from anyone who would like to help her reach the £1,000 target.
Mrs Herron can be contacted at Rosebank School, on (01740) 651555.
