Richmond swimmer Nicola Jackson's performances in last year's Sydney Olympics have also brought her home town club a financial boost.
The 16-year-old was awarded a Kellog's Personal Best Award of just over £1,000 for her outstanding contributions to the British 4x200m freestyle relay team, with the same amount going to Richmond Dales ASC.
Nicola nominated the club for the award as the place where she began her swimming career. The money will help to provide support for other local swimmers hoping to follow in her footsteps as a Great Britain international.
In Sydney, Nicola swam the third leg in the heats and recorded a time of 2.00.93, the fastest of the four team members, to help the team qualify for the final.
In the final, she swam the first leg and again produced the team's best time - a personal best 2.00.56 - as they finished sixth in a new British record of 8.03.69.
Nicola is pictured above presenting the cheque for £1,020.41 to club president Mr Peter Bellairs (right) and club chairman Mr Dave Clark.
