LAST December, Mr Graham told us in assembly that Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, was coming to open the school library.

He arrived at 2pm in a black limousine. I stood at the classroom door with Chloe Sanderson, to welcome him.

Chloe and I introduced ourselves and told him this was class eight. He shook our hands.

Mr Drury, the headteacher, said; "Come on, let's open the library."

The Prime Minister then walked to the library, and some photographers took pictures of him and some pupils from class nine as he unveiled the commemorative plaque.

The plaque read: This library was opened by the Right Honourable Tony Blair, Prime Minister and local MP on December 1st, 2000".
