A THIRSK woman has been enjoying her own Teddy bear's picnic, walking away with two awards from the industry "Oscars" this year.
Angela Ellis took the titles at the British Bear Artists' Awards, prompting an entry into international competition.
Mrs Ellis is no stranger to success, having scooped a prize at last year's ceremony.
However, she was thrilled with her more recent success.
"It's my biggest win. It was fantastic to win last year and the year before, when I was nominated in the top six; but to win two categories this year - well, I'm quite pleased with myself,'' she said.
The One That Got Away took one of the top prizes; it depicts a fishing bear with rod and line, a host of junk from the river - and a cat sneaking away with his only real catch.
Bearly Moving, with two Teddies in Georgian costume carrying a lady bear in a Sedan chair, was the other winner.
"You have to try to come up with something original. The bears have to be good, but you also need a bit of an angle as well. Don't ask me what I'm going to do next year because I haven't a clue," said Mrs Ellis.
