POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road accident in which a seven-year-old girl was badly hurt.
The girl was in a collision with a car in Broomside Lane, Belmont, Durham City, County Durham, at 6.15pm on Saturday. Both her legs were broken and she was detained in University Hospital, Durham.
Police say the youngster was crossing the road when she was involved in a collision with a Volvo driven by a 40-year-old man from Gilesgate Moor.
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact Durham Police's accident unit on 0191-375 2159.
