A MAN had to be rescued from under a dumper truck yesterday morning.
The incident happened just before 9am, in the Valley Gardens, Saltburn, east Cleveland, when the man was driving a dumper for Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
The man, who has not been identified, was thrown out and became trapped by his right foot, underneath the vehicle.
Firefighters from Saltburn and Skelton lifted the truck off the man and helped him to safety.
The worker was taken to Middlesbrough General Hospital by ambulance, with grazing and bruising from his knee down.
A spokesman for Redcar and Cleveland council said that the incident would be the subject of an investigation.
