YOUNGSTERS at a village primary are thrilled at the latest addition to their school.
The Parent Teacher Association at Melsonby Methodist Primary School, between Darlington and Richmond, was supported by the local community in its efforts to raise the £4,000 for an adventure playground.
Events such as duck races, fairs and coffee mornings played a part in the effort, and now the play area is in place. But the fundraising will continue, with a children's fashion show on Tuesday, May 12, at Aldbrough St John village hall.
Richmondshire District Council helped by advising on safety and layout. The equipment has been approved by North Yorkshire County Council.
