Junior round-up - Whitley Bay Arrows had a successful weekend with two wins in the English Bantam (Under-12) North promotion/relegation play-offs to head the group with a 100 percent record from three outings.
On Saturday, Whitley had a 3-1 victory at Nottingham Tiger Cubs. The home side got off to a flying start, taking the lead after 37 seconds. Arrows were in front by the interval with two goals in a minute from Chris Gibson.
The win and two points was assured four minutes from time with a Jamie Tinsley strike.
Arrows moved on to face Solihill Kings the following day and had no trouble in defeating the side that did not win a game in North A League this season.
Daniel Murdy put Whitley ahead after three minutes and Shaun Lee tucked away the second four minutes later.
By the interval the advantage was doubled to 4-0 as lee and Gemma Rolt found the back of the net.
The win was completed with further goals early in the final period from Jamie Tinsley and Nathan Taylor.
Net minder Thomas Murdy faced just ten shots in a shut-out.

Billingham Pumas hosted Solihull in the play-offs and lost 4-3. Scott Harrison put Pumas ahead at 3.34 and 24.08. Ben Moore scored a second after Solihull had equalised. Solihull scored three times in six minutes to go 4-2 ahead at 32.01.
Moore's second of the game for Pumas was not enough at Solihull held on to win. Puma's man of the match was Ben Moore.

Pumas were crushed 14-0 at Nottingham Tiger-Cubs on Sunday. Michael McCabe was man of the match.
Sunderland Cherokees held Telford Terrahawks to a 2-2 draw in an Under-12 challenge match on Saturday.
Martyn Davies and Ross Cameron twice put Cherokees ahead only for Telford to equalise.

Billingham Bears have maximum points from three matches in English Junior (Under-16) North promotion/relegation playoffs.
Their latest victory was a 7-2 home win over Blackburn Eagles on Saturday.
Andrew Thornton, Andrew Bennett and Peter Rix gave Bears a 3-0 lead after two periods.
In the final period Bears scored three times in 93 seconds from Zoe Bayne, James Kennair and James Udell for 6-0 at 34.43.
Paul Harland hit a seventh sandwiched in between two Blackburn replies.

Sunderland Scorpions, winners of the Women's Premier League defeated Kingston Diamonds 4-2 in their penultimate league match of the season at Hillheads.
Heather McDermott gave them a fourth-minute lead.
Kingston levelled at 31.10 before Paula Nolan (2) and Lynsey Emmerson put Sunderland 4-1 ahead at 58.12. Kingston hit a second 40 seconds later.

Whitley Bay Squaws were 5-4 winners at Blackburn Thunder in Women's Division One North. Squaws trailed 0-3 at 22.51 and four goals between 26.30 and 33.15 from them saw a 4-3 lead appear.
Sarah Christie and Claire Oldfield each scoring twice.
Blackburn levelled at 39.26 only for Whitley to seal victory with Oldfield's hat-trick, marker at 41.46.

Whitley Braves were beaten 8-1 at home by Altrincham Tigers in English Under-19 North promotion/relegation playoffs.

This weekend is the annual Junior Inter-Conference championship tournament at Hull Ice Arena at Under-11,13 and 15 age groups.
