YOUNGSTERS from the Cleveland Juniors Under-9s football team have been presented with trophies by footballing legend Sir Geoff Hurst.
The team and their families had a massive fund-raising drive which raised approximately £900 to fund a trip to Bournemouth to take part in an Easter tournament. This included a karoke evening featuring some of the parents, raising cash from a signed football from Middlesbrough FC chairman Steve Gibson and a donation of £200 from the Poverina pub in Normanby.
The team came fourth in the tournament and were presented with their trophies by the England hero.
Mum Sue Barker said: "I would like to thank everyone who helped us. Even if we had come last it was well worth making the 330-mile journey."
