POLICE carried out a dawn raid at a house in Hartlepool today to arrest a man suspected of carrying out a series of sex attacks on women.
The operation, code-named Crimea, was the culmination of a year long investigation by a team of detectives based in Stockton. The man was taken to Stockton Police Station, where he is due to be questioned later today.
Police began the hunt for a masked prowler who was attacking women in the Thornaby area a year ago.
An incident room was set up in Stockton and thousands of police hours were dedicated to tracking down the person responsible.
