PUPILS at a school on Teesside could get inside information on next year's World Cup.
They are students at Egglescliffe School, Eaglescliffe, where high-tech links with a secondary school in Inchon, South Korea, were given a VIP launch, yesterday.
South Korea is the venue for the next World Cup, by which time the schools will have been video-conferencing for months.
An e-mail link has already been established, as a result of an approach from the Anglo-Korean Forum, which promotes trading, cultural and educational links with South Korea.
Egglescliffe headteacher Angela Darnell said: "We were pleased to work with the Anglo-Korean Forum on this initiative."
Forum member Baroness Perry attended the launch yesterday with a representative from the Korean embassy, Professor Keith Pratt, who teachers oriental studies at Durham University, and Korean business people working in the area.
